What a phenomenal beginning to a new series Kings of Mafia. Another excellent mafia romance novel by Michelle Heard.

Vittoria our FMC thinks she is attending a party but actually she is attending her wedding to one of the most brutal and sadistic men Angelo. She was unaware of the arranged marriage contract. Angelo is one of the heads of the five families of New York’s cosa nostra. She has been physically abused by her brother for years and fears that she is going from one bad situation into another. But Angelo deals with her tenderly and the relationship that soon develops is one of deep respect and love.

The author is talented in writing about trauma and redemption. That is not an easy subject to develop. But she does so with finesse. She is a gifted writer and I look forward to reading more about these alpha mafia men.
