A Mafia Romance Novel Hunted By A Shadow by Michelle Heard

Ms. Heard has done it again. Just when I think she cannot outdo herself she writes another excellent mafia romance novel that grabs you by the throat… (something that the MMC Renzo does very often in the book)

I was thoroughly delighted to see such a unique plot/theme. No cookie cutter mafia books for Ms. Heard. She digs deep for unique stories and I love that.

The FMC Skylar is currently close to death due to renal/kidney failure and desperately needs a kidney. Due to a tragedy, she receives one but by nefarious means and the MMC Renzo vows revenge. He doesn’t care that Skylar is “innocent”. She has a piece of his family in her, and he wants it back. He begins stalking her and then he kidnaps her, and their story takes off from there.

The book was so well written and the scenes between Renzo and Skylar were sizzling hot. It was so refreshing to see hate develop into unconditional love where Renzo is willing to kill for Skylar.

I highly recommend this book. It is a little of a slow burn but when they do get together, they combust. We do see Renzo interacting with his mafia brothers so I highly recommend you read the first two books also, but you can read this one as a standalone. Also check your trigger warnings because this is a mafia romance.
